Ladies
and gentlemen,

Once again, welcome to our Embassy on this lovely summer evening on the
occasion of "Türkiye Your Resilient
Investment Partner” Reception.

I would like to begin
my remarks, by reminding that this
year, we are celebrating

-the 500^th
anniversary the establishment of the Foreign Ministry of Türkiye,

-the 100^th
anniversary the foundation of our Republic,

-the 52^nd
anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye
and China.

At the outset, I would like to thank Mr. Dağlıoğlu and
Mr. Ermut, who came to Beijing from Türkiye to address you.

I am sure they will give significant messages on investment, trade and finance.

Therefore, complementary to their messages, I would
like to dwell upon two key aspects of
the relationship between Türkiye and China:

-The First one is that the bonds between Türkiye and China go back to centuries

-The Second one is that today, we have the means and capabilities to cooperate and connect even
more closely and deeply.

1-Beginning
with the first one, when
we look at history, we can easily say that:

Our ancestors
interacted through the historical Silk
Road.

This interaction, which took place mainly on the basis
of exchange of goods, gained political
and socio-cultural aspects over time.

Today, we have the same understanding.

As the descendants of our ancestors, it is us who can contribute
to strengthening our relations.

Today, bilateral
relations between Türkiye and China have gained a significant momentum.

As a matter of fact, from e-commerce to telecommunications... From renewable energy to electric vehicles... from cloud technologies to the defense
industry…. we have established new
partnerships with China in a wide
range of areas.

We take courage from the strong will between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Xi
Jinping, to further our bilateral
relations.

In this direction, we believe that, through closer
interaction and greater will, we can soon raise our relations from "Strategic Cooperation" to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership"
level.

Let me also underline
the following:

Türkiye has
proven its resilience in the last 20 years of development, and despite the instabilities in its vicinity has achieved success in many areas.

We look at the world through our own lens with a foreign policy understanding of 360 degrees.

And, on China we are
not following the agenda of any other country.

I would like to take this opportunity to share an important news with you:

China's
top diplomat,Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central
Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Wang Yi will be in Türkiye on 26 July, for bilateral talks.

I think his
visit will make an important contribution to the advancement of our
cooperation.

All in all, inspired by the past, we are moving towards the future with determination, on the ground of common political will.

2- Secondly, we
need to connect more closely and cooperate more deeply.

The reason is
simple:

Today's world is rocked
by changes and turmoil, with geopolitical
conflicts resurfacing in Europe and other places, and the prospect for global economic recovery remaining bleak.

As
challenges increase, so do opportunities.

Yet, turning these opportunities into realities can only be possible through cooperation.

The cooperation we have shown so far is valuable, but not sufficient.

It is time for strategic
expansions and elevating our
cooperation to the next level.

For that, we need to focus on “game-changing” areas.

a) For instance, energy:
we can establish a long-term partnership in the field of nuclear energy.

-On the said field, negotiations are taking place
between two sides. And such collaboration is being acknowledged at the highest political level.

b) Another key concept that can create a multiplier
effect in our cooperation is “connectivity”.

-With we the signing of an MoU in 2015, Türkiye and China became natural partners in the Belt
and Road Initiative, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

-While the dynamics between East and West are changing
rapidly, Türkiye’s Middle Corridor
Initiative offers an important opportunity to improve China's ties with Europe and beyond.

Although there are many areas to mention, last but not
least:

c) high tech
and,

d) development of the high-quality infrastructure

could be other strategic areas to expand partnerships between Turkish and Chinese companies.

Dear Guests,

In
conclusion,

It is clear that
history, geography, technology, strategy, global dynamics and finally common sense, invite Turks and Chinese to cooperate and work
more closely.

You are the ones,
esteemed entrepreneurs, to see this at first hand.

With this understanding, we fully believe that you will evaluate the opportunities ahead
on a win-win basis, in a way that will serve the common interests of the Turkish and Chinese peoples.
